Weinheim, Jan. 11, 2016: The EDEKA Minden-Hannover IT-Service GmbH has renewed the cooperation with Online Software AG in the area of multimedia sales promotions. With over 1,550 supermarkets, EDEKA Minden-Hannover is one of the largest of the seven regional organisations within the national EDEKA cooperative. The regional organisation embraces continual collaboration to be able to offer its retailers long term security, system stability and flexibility in terms of future technologies. A cooperation in the areas of poster and label printing based on PRESTIGEenterprise software has already existed for many years. Screens and scales in EDEKA markets have been managed with this software for the past 6 years. “We have consciously decided upon a future-oriented solution. Here, we focus on process optimisation, the stability and future capability of the software as well as the long term advantages,” explains Marcus Bleidorn, responsible for retailer media at EDEKA Minden-Hannover IT-Service GmbH. “With the platform PRESTIGEenterprise we can connect and control a large part of the important media for the retail markets.” Through continual development EDEKA Minden-Hannover and ONLINE guarantee that future innovative and promising technologies will also be connectable. The EDEKA regional organisation is therefore well prepared for the future with PRESTIGEenterprise. In November EDEKA Minden-Hannover opened the largest EDEKA Center in Niedersachsen, an over 6,000 m² sales area, at BraWoPark in Braunschweig. PRESTIGEenterprise takes on a central role in the area of retail media. In addition to screens in the service and checkout areas, as well as a large video wall in the entrance area, central poster printing has also been implemented. EDEKA Center employees are able to compile all contents themselves and access standardised image and promotional information in form of printed posters or content for the screens for the variety of goods. EDEKA Minden-Hannover started to employ digital elements in their serving counter area over six years ago. Customers get information via screens on the backs of service counters and scales. Newer and modernised EDEKA supermarkets will one after another also introduce large format screens from Online Software AG to the service counter presence. Meanwhile more than 500 screens inform awaiting customers of daily offerings, new services and special promotions. The contents are managed by EDEKA Minden-Hannover IT-Service GmbH and regularly updated. In addition, individual stores are able to add their own sales promotional elements, or have them added. They receive individual access credentials to the centralised PRESTIGEenterprise system. About 2,000 scales with customer directed screens in over 500 EDEKA stores, which enliven with, among other things, emotional images. Since the manufacturers Bizerba and Mettler-Toledo are used for the EDEKA store scales, an interface management with connection to both scale manufacturers is one of the most crucial components PRESTIGEenterprise offers. Scales at the meat or cheese counters are not only used for promotions. The PRESTIGEenterprise “LiveInfo” module is also used at over 100 EDEKA Minden-Hannover stores. The module offers market employees, with the help of user displays, the ability to call up and relay product information. An extensive convenience catalogue, with valuable tips and information for the actual product, they are weighing, is accessible in this manner. Additional information, recipes or appropriate spices can then be conveyed to the customer – a service that has a positive effect on customers and strengthens the professional competence of the sales counter team. This is a convincing reason to continually promote the integration of software in the marketplaces. “We’ve been working together for years in partnership with EDEKA Minden-Hannover and maintain a regular exchange of information, from which many important advancements of the PRESTIGEenterprise software originate,” knows Gerd Betz, Director Retail Sales at Online Software. “For the start of 2016 we have planned a connection to EDEKA’s ePIM system, among other items. Weinheim, 12 June 2015 +++ The new software generation PRESTIGEenterprise 4.3, available as of June, is aimed at the IT and communication landscape of large enterprises. Alongside extensive new features in media management and other improvements in poster printing, various background processes have also been greatly optimised and improved to allow quick and easy management of networks, even those containing several thousand screens and printers. Focused on the printed, digital and mobile sales approach at the POS, Version 4.3 is even more powerful and feature-rich, for greater possibilities in professional and modern communication between branches. Based on latest-generation technologies, PRESTIGEenterprise 4.3 contains numerous interfaces to allow integration into the structures and workflows of existing IT systems. Usage rules further allow transparent, secure working even in internationally operating businesses. Playlist Mixer simplifies media planning Version 4.3 allows for the planning and playing of more than just one playlist. This makes planning much easier with PRESTIGEenterprise, where playlists with entirely different playback schedules can now be played automatically in succession. So if playlist A is active from Monday through Saturday and playlist B is only active on Friday and Saturday afternoons, then on Friday afternoon playlists A and B are automatically played one after the other and from Monday on it automatically switches back to just playlist A. Series slots can also be added to the running playlists, with special offers for after hours, for example. Even the graphical programme guide has been revised to maintain a clearer overview. Comfortable LivePreview The smart poster preview offered by the new LivePreview module makes daily handling easier and supports integration into other systems. With LivePreview, posters, labels and ESLs can be previewed and verified as soon as data has been created in the inventory management system without it being saved. In addition posters can be created containing data prior to it being transferred to PRESTIGEenterprise. Flexibly editable “opening times” To save energy, the “Night Mode” function has evolved into the far more detailed “Opening Times” function, which allows for finer control. It is now possible to separately configure screen on and off times for each day of the week. As always in PRESTIGEenterprise, there are default settings as well as the option to define exceptions, for example for terminals or screens in display window areas. Expanded functionality and new features as basis for large-scale installations In the print media area, the search functionality in poster folders has been further optimised to allow for more detailed search with substantially shorter loading times. The new detailed search by text, article number or EAN yields faster results and allows for more targeted search results. The search filter for existing templates has also been further refined. To ease the integration of PRESTIGEenterprise into large companies and enterprises, groups and users can now be automatically imported from XML files of user rights and authorisation systems. Users can be assigned to groups and branches already during the import process. Communication with the display engine has been optimised in Version 4.3 and the load on retailer application host massively reduced, by prioritizing the processing of current playlists and only checking the changes since the last connection. The display engines automatically adapt to server behaviour. When server loads are high, packets are reduced in size and intervals between queries prolonged. Upon low or dropping server loads, packets are restored to their original size and the intervals shortened again. This is especially important for installations with 1,000 screens or more. To allow professional monitoring of advertising effectiveness, playback data is stored along with content, display duration, date and time, and can then be sent for analysis to a data analysis system such as Retail Business Analytics (RBA) or Business Intelligence System. New generation of software: PRESTIGEenterprise 4.0

Weinheim, 03.06.2014 +++ Version 4.0 of PRESTIGEenterprise is now available. The professional software solution for store networking has been expanded with trend-setting functions based on the latest technology. The focus here is on the increasing demand for digital advertising communication at POS and multi-channel solutions. Networking with data available online is the basis for modern customer communication and interaction in bricks-and-mortar retail and this prepares for the challenges of the future in a complex and dynamic environment. Furthermore, the updates are also oriented towards mobile developments and current content requirements. New DisplayEngine ensures system independence With the new DisplayEngine H5, the PRESTIGEenterprise software component which is responsible for playing back content on the screen, can show advertising content online and offline in virtually all HTML5-enabled web browsers such as Google Chrome, for example. In addition, you can choose between Windows, Linux and Android for use on mobile devices. DisplayEngine H5, based on JavaScript and HTML5, thus allows the maximum possible level of independence from systems. More product variety for virtual shelves          Version 4.0 of PRESTIGEenterprise allows you to display more “pages” within the application for virtual shelves which can be navigated both via Touch and via the Leap Motion gesture technology. The digital shelf becomes scrollable. A direct connection to online applications, such as the company’s own online ship, is possible. The further development thus supports an even more extensive presentation of the product range on large screens in the sales area. It is even possible to use the application behind a secure display window or glass display case. Behind the scenes, PRESTIGEenterprise 4.0 ensures consistent automatic management in the usual manner directly from the enterprise resource planning or marketing databases. The ContentAbo module takes care of the automatic updating of the virtual shelves in the event of changes to product data, product images or even advertising videos.  New features simplify the system In version 4.0 of PRESTIGEenterprise, DisplayEngine, PrintEngine, Uploader and UpdateService can all be installed using a simple WebSetup. Installation is as simple as going to a URL – a CD or USB stick is no longer required for roll-out. Version 4.0 offers improvements even for the ever more popular graphic ESLs (electronic shelf labels): A Web API, which supports both XML and JSON, makes the information required for complete integration available to all producers of electronic shelf labels. Even the print area has been fundamentally reworked and further improved. Significantly faster processing is achieved by relocating various processes to the background as well as breaking print jobs down into multiple processes, which has a very positive effect on the time required for printing to finish, particularly for high volume printing. The focus was on product and price transparency as well as consulting solutions which bricks-and-mortar retailers can use to offer their customers real added value. Online Software’s innovative products in the field of in-store marketing solutions went down well with EuroShop’s professional visitors. “After months of looking around, gathering information and planning for investments in modern in-store technologies, we have seen noticeable interest in implementation by retailers in the last few months. Concrete enquiries about the integration and implementation of solutions which support multi-media POS marketing reflected the upbeat mood at EuroShop. In addition to the eye-catcher, PRESTIGEglass, an app based on Google Glass, the implementation of the new iBeacon technology at POS generated particular enthusiasm. An overview of the solutions In the know with PRESTIGEglass A PRESTIGE application for Google Glass allows end users to access all product information such as allergens and ingredients right in front of their eyes when they look at the product. With the help of the PRESTIGEglass app, the Google glasses capture the product that the user is focusing on and flash up additional information, e.g. about the allergens contained in the product, in the viewer’s visual field. On the one hand, the application supports the trend for conscious buying behaviour, but on the other hand it can also be used for offers or other additional information. For retailers, the system, with the PRESTIGEenterprise software, is remarkably easy to use. Retailers can set and update their own content at any time, or there are also standard databases available to them for free, such as BrandLogistics.NET’s database. RALV allergen app for transparency in foodstuffs Customers can stay informed about allergens in deli counter products with the RALV app element. Retailers can thus easily fulfil the legal obligation to provide information regarding allergens which will apply as of December 2014. Customers enter their allergies at the POS via tablet. As a result, they are only shown the products which do not contain any of their allergens. In addition, more information such as the ingredients and nutritional value can be requested. The new app element adds a new function to the PRESTIGE app construction kit and can easily be integrated into each app. Interactive tasting The interactive tasting machine has an integrated touchscreen. Using unique mixing technology, it allows individual drinks to be playfully mixed to the customers’ exact tastes. At the same time, the machine presents current offers and new information about product launches. With this innovation in technology based on the PRESTIGEenterprise software, customers experience an entirely new form of tasting which offers retailers an attractive and entertaining advertising space that can be flexibly designed and integrated into their in-store advertising communication. iBeacon – Location based advertising Online Software AG demonstrates complete store navigation based on Apple’s iBeacon technology. Small iBeacons are spread out on the shelves as signal transmitters. When a receiver, e.g. a smart phone, comes into proximity with the transmitter, the signal strength is identified and the customer’s position is thus defined. The offers in the customer’s immediate vicinity can thus be shown. Charming Mirror The “Charming Mirror” has been specially developed for the fashion trade. The electronic mirror with integrated camera identifies the customer’s age group and gender using integrated facial recognition. PRESTIGEenterprise then only makes suitable offers available. An ingenious complementary function also allows customers to see themselves from behind when trying on items using delayed playback. Pricebot JOE – Transparent communication of prices Price-conscious bricks-and-mortar retail businesses can better communicate their strengths with Pricebot JOE. The module makes it possible to show prices from competing online offers, taking availability and shipping and handling into account, on an electronic shelf label. The prices are continuously updated so that they are always up-to-date. Customers are thus shown that they can’t necessarily get the product for less online but can buy the product straight away and take it home with them. PRESTIGE app for poster printing This new app can be accessed directly via the printer display. It allows users to review their print jobs on the spot or to quickly and easily print additional posters. This avoids unnecessary misprints and thus saves money. Retailers can also monitor and confirm each print job directly at the printer in order to ensure that suitable paper has been loaded before each print job.
