The retailer REWE Richrath is committed to high-quality regional articles and organic products in the Cologne region. The family-owned company with 14 branches uses video streaming to send live images of its egg supplier’s hen house on a screen directly on the egg rack in the branch. In addition, customers can watch the straw pigs of a meat supplier live in their stables.
REWE Richrath uses it to communicate boldly and authentically why its eggs cost a few cents more: because they are from the region and because the animals are treated well. So much courage to be transparent is only successful if you believe in your customers and suppliers and allow them a high degree of responsibility.
The live TV is based on a digital signage solution from PRESTIGEenterprise and is distributed by the animal welfare group tierwohl.tv. Farmers and traders are brought together on the platform. A camera will be installed in the farm animals’ stall for the participating farmers. This sends the current happenings in the barn to a livestream directly on a screen in the supermarket.
Live streams from several stables can be shown in a playlist. The special thing about it: Every retailer can integrate the livestream in his own design.
