In collaboration with Online Software AG, METTLER TOLEDO is presenting the first talking scale at EuroShop 2020 in Hall 6, Stand E61.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weinheim \/ Giessen, 14 February 2020 +++<\/strong> This AI-based solution supports customers in the fruit and vegetable department. The self-service scales automatically recognise the fruit and vegetables placed on them. \u201eAlexa, where does the apple come from?\u201c - At last, supermarket customers can ask the scales in the fruit and vegetable department additional questions - and get an immediate answer. The first talking scales were developed by scales specialist METTLER TOLEDO in collaboration with Online Software AG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Now that voice assistants have successfully established themselves in German living rooms and cars, customers also expect the convenient voice service in other everyday situations, such as their daily shopping at the supermarket,\" explains Uwe Kriese, Business Area Manager Retail - Region Central Europe. \"It therefore made sense to showcase a modern scale solution with voice control for the fruit and vegetable sector. The innovative METTLER TOLEDO FreshWay scale, which recognises products using a special camera system, communicates naturally with the customer in this way. With its new product platform, METTLER TOLEDO is thus demonstrating innovative ways of interactive communication in conjunction with the scales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scales respond to questions about the product being weighed, be it about origin, ingredients or a recipe. In addition to the voice output, all information is also shown on a customer display at the same time. Even recipes can be printed out directly if the customer so wishes. Thanks to the intelligent interface to the software platform, such as PRESTIGEenterprise, all information is managed centrally, resulting in a comprehensive information system for customers.
