Online Software AG achieves very positive results at EuroShop 2014

Weinheim, 28.02.2014 +++ This year’s EuroShop brought record visitor numbers for Online Software AG. People could experience the future of retail live at the PRESTIGE Solution Campus. The focus was on product and price transparency as well as consulting solutions which bricks-and-mortar retailers can use to offer their customers real added value. Online Software’s innovative products in the field of in-store marketing solutions went down well with EuroShop’s professional visitors. “After months of looking around, gathering information and planning for investments in modern in-store technologies, we have seen noticeable interest in implementation by retailers in the last few months. Concrete enquiries about the integration and implementation of solutions which support multi-media POS marketing reflected the upbeat mood at EuroShop. In addition to the eye-catcher, PRESTIGEglass, an app based on Google Glass, the implementation of the new iBeacon technology at POS generated particular enthusiasm. Products which offer enormous added value both for retailers and for customers were thus a particular focus. The trade fair appearance was crowned by success by granting the Retail Technology Award Europe 2014 in the category Best Customer Experience , to the HUMANIAC AVATAR from Leder & Schuh. An overview of the solutions In the know with PRESTIGEglass A PRESTIGE application for Google Glass allows end users to access all product information such as allergens and ingredients right in front of their eyes when they look at the product. With the help of the PRESTIGEglass app, the Google glasses capture the product that the user is focusing on and flash up additional information, e.g. about the allergens contained in the product, in the viewer’s visual field. On the one hand, the application supports the trend for conscious buying behaviour, but on the other hand it can also be used for offers or other additional information. For retailers, the system, with the PRESTIGEenterprise software, is remarkably easy to use. Retailers can set and update their own content at any time, or there are also standard databases available to them for free, such as BrandLogistics.NET’s database. RALV allergen app for transparency in foodstuffs Customers can stay informed about allergens in deli counter products with the RALV app element. Retailers can thus easily fulfil the legal obligation to provide information regarding allergens which will apply as of December 2014. Customers enter their allergies at the POS via tablet. As a result, they are only shown the products which do not contain any of their allergens. In addition, more information such as the ingredients and nutritional value can be requested. The new app element adds a new function to the PRESTIGE app construction kit and can easily be integrated into each app. Interactive tasting The interactive tasting machine has an integrated touchscreen. Using unique mixing technology, it allows individual drinks to be playfully mixed to the customers’ exact tastes. At the same time, the machine presents current offers and new information about product launches. With this innovation in technology based on the PRESTIGEenterprise software, customers experience an entirely new form of tasting which offers retailers an attractive and entertaining advertising space that can be flexibly designed and integrated into their in-store advertising communication. iBeacon – Location based advertising Online Software AG demonstrates complete store navigation based on Apple’s iBeacon technology. Small iBeacons are spread out on the shelves as signal transmitters. When a receiver, e.g. a smart phone, comes into proximity with the transmitter, the signal strength is identified and the customer’s position is thus defined. The offers in the customer’s immediate vicinity can thus be shown. Charming Mirror The “Charming Mirror” has been specially developed for the fashion trade. The electronic mirror with integrated camera identifies the customer’s age group and gender using integrated facial recognition. PRESTIGEenterprise then only makes suitable offers available. An ingenious complementary function also allows customers to see themselves from behind when trying on items using delayed playback. Pricebot JOE – Transparent communication of prices Price-conscious bricks-and-mortar retail businesses can better communicate their strengths with Pricebot JOE. The module makes it possible to show prices from competing online offers, taking availability and shipping and handling into account, on an electronic shelf label. The prices are continuously updated so that they are always up-to-date. Customers are thus shown that they can’t necessarily get the product for less online but can buy the product straight away and take it home with them. PRESTIGE app for poster printing This new app can be accessed directly via the printer display. It allows users to review their print jobs on the spot or to quickly and easily print additional posters. This avoids unnecessary misprints and thus saves money. Retailers can also monitor and confirm each print job directly at the printer in order to ensure that suitable paper has been loaded before each print job.
