fairKauf uses PRESTIGEenterprise for price labelling in the branches of Germany's largest second-hand department stores'.
Heidelberg/Hanover, 14 July 2023 +++ fairKauf is more than just second-hand. The non-profit co-operative qualifies long-term unemployed people for a job in retail. This is made possible by selling donated second-hand goods in good condition. Every purchase and every donation of goods supports fairKauf in helping people to find another job on the labour market.
In order to make people as fit as possible for the retail world, state-of-the-art technologies are used in the shops, such as the PRESTIGEenterprise software platform for price labelling.
In addition to training and further education, PRESTIGEenterprise ensures a standardised appearance of price labelling at all fairKauf shops. To this end, fairKauf's marketing management has created customer-orientated templates in the corporate design for all required formats. At fairKauf, these are primarily ceiling hangers and displays in A3, A4 and A6 formats. Due to the uniqueness typical of second-hand, the items are only labelled at group level, not at item level. Offers also apply to entire groups and not to items. The large number of products means that each shop has to create and print the labels it requires itself.
Following the start of the project in April 2023, two shops are already in live operation and a further five shops will be connected by the end of the summer. After the rollout in all shops, the next step will be to create a concept for the integration of large-format screens, which are already hanging behind the checkout in most shops. Template management with PRESTIGEenterprise makes it possible to implement a professional, digital customer approach in the shop in just a few simple steps. The templates can also be programmed to enable automated animations: Away from boring still image offers and towards moving eye-catchers.
"fairKauf is a commercially minded company that earns money to do good. We want to prove that social goals can be achieved with entrepreneurial means. In order to achieve this, we have to operate with foresight - just like other companies," explains Klaus Hibbe, Managing Director of fairKauf and a 40-year veteran of the retail sector. "And this includes, among other things, the experienced use of professional price labelling that does not prevent staff from advising customers."
