PRESTIGE Partner Day: Brilliance with substance - Excellent solutions conquer the POS

The 12th PRESTIGE Partner Day was filled with topics relating to the brilliant POS and the technical possibilities for its realisation.

Weinheim, 18 January 2018 +++ Under the motto "Excellence at the POS - shining with impressive customer communication", experts from the retail sector met again in Heidelberg on 16 January 2018 for Online Software AG's PRESTIGE Partner Day. Every year, customers and partners of the software company discuss current topics in stationary retail. The industry event, which took place for the twelfth time, has established itself as a fixed date in the retail world in recent years.

Market research specialist Jens Lönneker from rheingold salon shed light on what makes bricks-and-mortar retail psychologically attractive to customers. He questioned the function and significance of bricks-and-mortar retail and called on retailers to have more courage to develop disruptive concepts in order to continue to win over customers. CEO and founder of Gruppe Nymphenburg, Norbert Wittmann, shared his insights and presented outstanding format development and restructuring projects as well as solutions for process and workflow optimisation using selected cases. Lutz Schneppendahl, Managing Director of HARRES Metall-design, also outlined what digital excellence will look like in the store design of the future.

Retailers such as EDEKA Minden-Hannover, which uses the PRESTIGEenterprise software platform to implement numerous digital solutions for an improved customer approach on the shop floor, as well as managing its printed labels and posters with the software, recently also in conjunction with the EDEKA LUNAR system, reported on their experiences in implementing their projects. Bertram Schreiner and Christian Minz from EDEKA Minden-Hannover explained the challenges that such projects entail and Rainer Rausch from tegut... reported on new marketing tools for greater customer confidence and POS communication with shopper-relevant topics.

An equally entertaining and exciting highlight was a report by Volker Wissmann, CEO of Online Software, live from the world's largest retail IT trade fair, the NRF Big Show in New York. Together with thought leader and innovation expert Frank Rehme, he reported on the current key topics in international retail. In particular, innovation topics such as artificial intelligence and seamless clienting and their implementation in practice took centre stage.
