REWE:XL Hundertmark opens its first REWE store in Luxembourg and also emphasises the use of modern digital POS communication with PRESTIGEenterprise.
Weinheim, 08 August 2017 +++ REWE:XL Hundertmark, the first REWE store to open in Luxembourg in April of this year, was designed according to the latest criteria. Digital elements are a must. A total of five screens are installed behind the service counter in the Echternach REWE store, one each for the meat, sausage, cheese, fish and hot food sections. The successful family business Hundertmark is part of REWE West and also obtains the content shown on the screens from there. "In the medium term, however, we would like to add our own regional content to the standard programme that runs on the screens so that our customers feel at home," explains the self-employed businessman Björn Hundertmark, who runs the company together with his brothers Jörg and Dirk Hundertmark in the second generation. The digital signage software PRESTIGEenterprise from Online Software AG enables these regional adjustments to the instore playlist specified by the head office with little effort. The ease of use also makes it easier for staff to make small changes themselves on site.

REWE Hundertmark already uses screens at the service counters in two of its ten stores in Rhineland-Palatinate. Echternach (Luxembourg) is now the third shop with digital elements. The integration of further screens is planned for the 2017 and 2018 refurbishments as well as for a planned new store. In addition, modern dual-screen scales will be used in each remodelling project, which will also be supplemented by advertising on the customer displays. At the service counters in particular, waiting customers gratefully accept entertainment and information on the scales screens. There is hardly a better place for advertising messages. With PRESTIGEenterprise, REWE Hundertmark can also show its own themes on the scales.
