New Release: PRESTIGEenterprise Release 3.1

Weinheim, 12th of October 2010:Online Software AG announces the sales start of   PRESTIGEenterprise Release 3.1 for the price communication and advertising at the point of sale (PoS). Highlights of the Release 3.1, ready for sale from 4th of October 2010 are the new timer and energy saving functions, comfortable server modules for text blocks and mobile devices as well as extended language functionalities thanks to Unicode capable PEX-Import and language support of Simplified Chinese. PRESTIGEenterprise goes Green-IT More sustainability in digital signage: With the energy saving mode “night mode” a time frame can be assigned for each screen connected to PRESTIGEenterprise with Release 3.1. The screen changes to standby mode for the duration of the time window and will boot up again after it has elapsed. In this way PRESTIGEenterprise customers can cleverly save electricity and optimally implement Corporate Governance regulations about Green IT and sustainability. The timer function was extended with Release 3.1. Playlists can no longer only be recorded at fixed times, but can also be repeated in a defined rhythm. The timer function therefore enormously simplifies the time planning for presenting the playlists – no matter whether it’s punctually before the kickoff of football matches or even exactly on the hour for the “offer of the hour“. New server modules bring additional ease of use With the optimum additional module “text blocks” PRESTIGEenterprise-users not only avoid annoying spelling errors or false product details, but also save time by avoiding duplication of work. Using “text blocks” pre-defined expressions and texts can be stored and articles can be assigned in a text library. This facilitates a uniform description and design of product features as well as product groups and ensures the company a consistently professional appearance in the article descriptions. With Release 3.1. the server module “MobileBrowser” presents itself significantly extended: It is now possible to change playlists and their device allocation via mobile devices such as the iPhone, Windows Smartphones or Pocket PCs. For this purpose the MobileBrowser supports the operating systems Windows Mobile, Apple iOS, Android and the web browsers Firefox, Internet Explorer and Apple’s Safari. The MobileBrowser is therefore an ideal tool for store managers, who want to carry out sales promoting adjustments – e.g. for perishable goods – without any detours to the office. Via the WLAN network of the branch the store manager can hereby access PRESTIGEenterprise with hismobile device and can carry out the changes ad hoc. Thanks to the support of the Apple operating system iOS the development of further individual apps is possible. The apps access content that is stored in PRESTIGEenterprise. PRESTIGEenterprise now also in Chinese – plus Unicode capable PEX import PRESTIGEenterprise Release 3.1 is now also available with a Chinese user interface (Simplified Chinese). Comfortable for PRESTIGEenterprise users, who want to transfer their existing template texts during the migration from PRESTIGE to PRESTIGEenterprise: the Unicode capable PEX import. It also masters the error free transfer of special characters in languages such as Russian or Greek. A correct import of texts integrated in templates from ANSI based PEX files is therefore ensured even in the case of varying regional settings. New version: PRESTIGEenterprise 3.0 now available for Firefox and 64-bit

Weinheim, 31 March 2010: Online Software AG, market-leader in the area of digital price and advertising communication at the point-of-sale (PoS), has now released the new version of its multi-awarded software package PRESTIGEenterprise 3. Jürgen Berens von Rautenfeld, CEO of Online Software AG, explains: “PRESTIGEenterprise is the ideal platform for cross-media communication at the point-of-sale. It is the right program for all channels to improve customer retention. Our new release 3.0 will be used by customers in all sectors even simpler and much more cost-effective.” Using PRESTIGEenterprise 3, IT managers gain more possibilities to integrate the software into the existing infrastructure. The new release runs with immediate effect on servers with a 64-bit operating system. In addition, all client-components are Windows 7 compatible, and the web application for media control is now also available for Mozilla Firefox, the most widely-used browser besides the Internet Explorer. The developers of Online Software AG have also improved the stability and resource-management of the system. DisplayEngine V5, which shows multi-media content on advertising displays, now also runs demanding input such as HD videos high reliable and failure-proof. Dynamic layout templates

For the marketing managers, the creation of advertising material, print matter and digital monitor content is even simpler with PRESTIGEenterprise 3.0. Dynamic layout templates adjust the entered content automatically. A poster that is used in several variations now requires only a single template. The software generates automatically the suitable distribution of text blocks and pictures. Optimal scaling and placing of logos is also handled by the intelligent design feature for the user. Comprehensive advertising material can be designed much easier and faster whilst the effort to manage templates is highly reduced.

Weinheim, 12 March 2010: The reta europe award 2010, presented by a selected expert jury of the EHI Retail Institute as part of the EuroCIS, has been awarded to the s.Oliver fashion label in the “Best Customer Experience” category, thereby honouring the exceptional  Digital Signage concept of the two technology partners, Online Software AG and Vis-à-pix GmbH. The jury, comprising European as well as American retail experts, awarded the digital PoS advertising for the play-back of gender-specific advertising clips by the PRESTIGEenterprise software using the interactive VISAPIX facial recognition. Using the concept developed by technology partners, Online Software and Vis-à-pix, the s.Oliver fashion label is extending the store TV of its branches. The system which has been developed recognises the gender of the observer and shows films containing information about the new collections, customised to the corresponding target group. “This excellent solution brings a new quality to InStore TV“, promises Jürgen Berens von Rautenfeld, CEO of Online Software, whilst emphasising: “Gender-specific Digital Signage reduces dispersion at the Point-of-Sale. Men and women get to see only the advertising clips of the current collections that may be relevant to their purchase, taking into consideration their gender.” The fashion company s.Oliver, with 2,360 shops in 30 countries, envisages placing the displays in store areas where a high degree of attention by the customer can be expected – such as in waiting zones in front of escalators and in the vicinity of changing cubicles. And this is how it works: if a customer approaches the display, the People Attract video picture evaluation analyses the gender and plays back complementary advertising. People Attract recognises the number of persons in front of the display, their gender and the attention span of the digital display, and controls the interactively play-back of the clips accordingly. Work in progress by the developers: extending the software to recognise age. In this manner, s.Oliver is targeting specifically the interaction with the customer: “We start the play-back the spot always with a short delay“, explains Dr. Quirll, head of Commercial International Retail.  “The customer should notice: “This is my program! All video recordings for the situational gender recognition, as well as the subsequent advertising effectiveness analyses, are made anonymous and cannot be allocated to individual customers. For statistical analyses as part of advertising effectiveness analyses anonymous usage figures only are prepared and saved. The Independent Centre for Privacy Protection in Kiel (ULD) has allocated the ULD data privacy seal as the first company in this line of business to Vis-á-pix GmbH for the People Attract Software. EuroCIS 2010 – multimedia-based sales approach at the PoS with PRESTIGE

Weinheim, 1 February 2010 Online Software AG, Europe’s market-leader in multi-media pricing and advertising communication at the PoS, is presenting for the first time PRESTIGEremote, its PoS application for the Apple iPhone at the EuroCIS 2010 (2 to 4 March, Düsseldorf exhibition centre, Hall 14, Stand D78). Thereby making digital signage in retail interactive, the use of this app allows the customer to actively influence the Digital Signage displayed to him/her in the store. Another variation of the application will enable system administrators and retailers in the future to drive display media via their iPhone, and access playlists and input content remotely.

Digital Signage-Management with Multi-Touch-Control-Panel (MTCP)

Furthermore at the EuroCIS 2010, Online Software AG will demonstrate the Multi-Touch-Control-Panel (MTCP) for the Digital Signage-Management of the future: via a multi-touch big screen and using the MTCP, retail chain head offices have a gesture-driven, touch-technology based user interface in XXL format, filling an entire wall, at their disposal. Online Software AG, Weinheim has been awarded the “Digital Signage Best Practice Award 2009” on the occasion of the viscom 2009 trade fair. This award, presented by an international expert jury, honours the “Digital price and advertising communication at dodenhof” project as the best digital signage implementation in the European trade. Within the scope of viscom, the leading trade fair for visual communication, the solution of Online Software AG was presented with this year’s “Digital Signage Best Practice Award 2009” award by a jury comprising international experts on 2 October 2009. The implementation of the “Digital price and advertising communication at dodenhof” project, using Online Software AG’s PRESTIGEenterprise solution, was convincing. The expert jury thereby honours it as an “especially efficient planned, creatively implemented, innovative and successful digital signage application” in a retail company. The project was “an excellent example of how an owner-operated, modern digital signage installation can be implemented by the retail customer itself in a customer-oriented fashion”.”The decisive factor in the award of this most important digital signage award was, that the rock solid installation with only one software could be  used by the customer itself to drive all display media such as displays, scales and monitor walls simply, cost- and time-efficiently in-house”, according to the jury. PRESTIGEenterprise 2.3 – New version, enhanced functions

With PRESTIGEenterprise 2.3, Online Software AG (Weinheim) presents a new version of its market-leading software for pricing and advertising communications. Besides classic poster printing, PRESTIGEenterprise also supports digital POS communication on digital screens. Newly developed program tools optimise especially interactive customer information: Besides up-to-date product-enhancing information which can be called up via the newly built-in “Live Info & eLearning Center”, functions such as “Cross Printing” and integrated web content is now available. Such value-added information supports the professional expertise of staff, increase customer confidence and accelerate additional sales. Background processes and usability have been optimised in such a way that the creation, administration and transfer of digital information to all display media at the POS are noticeably faster. Even conventional poster printing is improved by the program. By means of a special compression technique, print jobs are executed faster by up to 50 percent. This provides a noticeable time saving especially for larger retail branches which print many posters and labels. With over 30,000 installations in international retail, PRESTIGE has been the market-leading system for pricing and advertising communication at the POS for 20 years. This success is based especially on steady, future-oriented innovation and permanently aligning the software to the requests of users in retail and banking. With the new PRESTIGEenterprise 2.3 version, playlists can be created and edited even faster by simply copying and moving. Changing the settings of several playlist elements simultaneously is now possible in only a few process steps. In addition to a fixed playback sequence, individual playlist elements can be prioritised, which are thus highlighted especially by frequent playback. In this way it is possible to very simply set different individual runtimes, transitions elements or volume strengths for various articles, pictures or videos. The new “Live Info & eLearning Center” feature provides customers with current additional information and allows the service staff to shine with professional expertise. Because the notes, which are offered by keywords, are called up from a centrally-maintained site and are therefore always up-to-date. This information such as product origin, hints regarding the care and maintenance, article use or test results all increase customer confidence and contribute positively to customers’ experience of service. An absolute novelty for PRESTIGEenterprise is the integration of web content, such as the bioweather or regional events, as picture-in-picture displays. By means of permanent updates using the data of a selected webpage, up-to-date information is offered. The use of emotional pictures and content which has been customised to the interests of customers improves the image and promotes customer loyalty. Another feature is the cross-printing function. The classic application area here is printing recipes at the service counter or coupon-printing. For the customer that has purchased a lamb chop, for example, it is possible using this function to print suitable recipes such as “lamb chop Provencal” or “lamb chops with oven potatoes” at the scale.
