Landgard relies on PRESTIGEenterprise in its flagship store

New Cash & Carry store in Straelen-Herongen with many technological innovations uses PRESTIGEenterprise software platform to manage digital advertising messages.

Weinheim, 13 June 2018 +++ Customers can expect a genuine B2B shopping experience at the Landgard Cash & Carry Future Market in Herongen. The pilot store of the internationally active producer cooperative for flowers & plants and fruit & vegetables, which opened in March 2018, demonstrates a bold concept for the future. The integration of digital topics into the stationary market as part of a digitalisation strategy played an important role in the redesign of the entire pilot market. For example, the growers' cooperative has created a new business point equipped with seating, a notice board and iPads with access to Landgard's web shops. In addition, six large-format screens in the newly designed entrance area of the customer loading hall and atrium provide a modern, customer-friendly shopping experience. Other screens in the various market units are used for image advertising and show, for example, videos of bloggers or draw attention to Landgard's "Flowers - 1000 good reasons" initiative. A stele is also planned.

"The green sector is characterised by profound change, which is based not least on changes in society as a whole and changes in consumer behaviour. By developing our Cash & Carry store in Straelen-Herongen into a market of the future, we want to provide future-proof answers to the current requirements of the specialised trade," says Armin Rehberg, Chairman of the Management Board of Landgard eG, explaining this investment in the future. "Emotional, colourful, transparent, modern, future-oriented, digital and sustainable - that's our new Cash & Carry store of the future. And this is the new system we want to work with in the future."

The weekly changing offers are communicated attractively on the screens - informative and emotional, with images and videos. The offers are created and distributed to the screens independently by the respective store manager or dispatcher of the store unit using the PRESTIGEenterprise software platform. The software's clever template system guarantees compliance with the corporate designs, even for the four different private label groups, and playlists can be created quickly and easily.

For day-to-day business, it was particularly important to Landgard that the marketing tools used were easy to use and functioned reliably. In order to be able to react quickly to last-minute changes, the playlists and their elements must be easy to add or delete. This goal was achieved shortly after the software was introduced and the employees were trained. The programme managers used PRESTIGEenterprise to manage the digital advertising messages completely independently after a short time.

"The opening of the pilot store is just the beginning. The new Landgard Herongen Cash & Carry store of the future creates a genuine shopping experience in the B2B sector for the first time and aims to market flowers and plants in a progressive and modern way," explains Günther Esser, Head of Specialist Retail at Landgard. "Initially, the new processes, approaches and technologies will be tested and further developed in the pilot market. The next step will be to optimise the 30 other Landgard C&C stores, which represent the heart of our specialist retail-oriented marketing with a turnover of over 280 million euros in 2017, on the basis of the knowledge gained."
