EDEKA Nord retailer Niemerszein sometimes uses unusual portrait formats when addressing customers digitally in its stores
Weinheim, 23 May 2017 +++ For over 50 years, the family business Niemerszein has been offering everyday groceries in Hamburg's most beautiful neighbourhoods. The Niemerszein family attaches great importance to regionality, customer service and an appealing shopping atmosphere in the now eight stores. The company therefore regularly invests in shop fittings and does not put off modernisation work. The decision to address customers digitally was made early on, and with it the decision in favour of the digital signage software PRESTIGEenterprise from Online Software AG. All stores are now equipped with screens. Over 20 monitors have been installed at the reopened Winterhude store alone.
For the digital customer approach, all stores were equipped with screens at the fresh counters for cheese, sausage, meat and fish as well as in the fruit and vegetable area. Customers can also whet their appetite for fresh delicacies digitally at the salad bar. In the store on Mühlenkamp, five screens in the shop window also advertise the current leaflet offers.
"The quality of the screens is certainly an important prerequisite, because if you save at the wrong end, you end up having more trouble with breakdowns and repairs. In everyday life, however, the right software pays off above all. "Our advertising department is fully flexible with the software tool and can professionally plan the offer planning with manageable labour input."
Franziska Boelke, who is responsible for the graphic presentation in the eight stores, is very satisfied "PRESTIGEenterprise makes it easy to plan the weekly offers as well as appealing food motifs and videos to suit the respective department and update them very quickly if necessary. For example, if an item on offer is no longer in stock, it should no longer be advertised," explains the trained graphic designer, adding "Regional delicacies are particularly popular with us. We prefer to source crunchy fruit and vegetables and first-class meat and sausage products from local businesses that we have been friends with for many years, and of course we also communicate this on our screens."
EDEKA Niemerszein is affiliated with EDEKA Nord and has an annual turnover of around 88 million euros with around 450 employees in its eight stores. The PRESTIGEenterprise software platform is used for the comprehensive planning, management and distribution of digital advertising content to the screens of the various locations and departments.
