More and more REWE retailers are relying on tierwohl.tv. Live images from the chicken farm promote transparency and strengthen consumer confidence.

Weinheim, 26 August 2020 +++ From now on, customers at REWE Stanislawski and Laas in Hamburg can find out about how laying hens are kept with live images from the barn directly on the egg shelf in the supermarket when buying eggs.
At 7,500 square metres, the largest Rewe store in the Hanseatic city of Hamburg, which has been managed by former St. Paulian Holger Stanislawski together with former HSV player Alexander Laas and ex-HSV supervisory board member Bernd Enge since 2014, is constantly surprising its customers with new and unusual ideas. With a 200 square metre play arena where children can play football or a singles night between the supermarket shelves.
Animal welfare and regional products are very popular with Hamburg's discerning clientele. However, many customers are confused by the many different seals on regionality, husbandry conditions and organic products. This is where tierwohl.tv comes in. "We have decided in favour of clear and honest communication of the conditions under which our laying hens are kept and want to use this transparency to strengthen our customers' trust in our regional commitment and the products we offer," says Holger Stanislawski proudly.
Aim of animalwelfare.tv is to give consumers in the food market an unvarnished view via live TV of the husbandry conditions and living conditions of the animals whose meat they want to buy and whose eggs they want to eat. And for which they are prepared to spend more money. With images from the barn, Tierwohl.tv provides the necessary transparency and honesty to gain and build consumer confidence in the treatment of farm animals.
At Geflügelhof Schönecke in Neu Wulmstorf, cameras were installed in the laying hen house and outside for this reason. Henner Schönecke, owner of Geflügelhof Schönecke and Chairman of the German Egg Association (BVEi), explains: "When Bernd Enge told me about the idea of live transmission from the barn directly to the egg shelf, I was immediately hooked. After all, it rewards the many honest farmers who are closely involved with their own animals. At last, with tierwohl.tv, there is a system that shows consumers authentic images. Just like it is with us. This livestream enables not only individual farm visitors to watch the chickens in their daily lives on our farm, as was previously the case, but also all customers of the REWE Centre Stanislawski & Laas and thus a broad mass of people."
The cameras installed at Schönecke transmit the current events in the barn in a live stream directly to a screen in the supermarket. REWE Stanislawski und Laas integrates the live streams from the various cameras into its own design and skilfully supplements the live images with product offers and further information, which are then shown alternately on the screens. In this way, the customer sees an informative and entertaining programme at the egg shelf. The tierwohl.tv solution is managed with the PRESTIGEenterprise software platform from Online Software AG.
"With tierwohl.tv, the Hamburg REWE store is showing in an exemplary way how to take customers' desire for more transparency seriously and give them a high degree of personal responsibility," praises Michael Sylvester, project manager of tierwohl.tv, adding "With the livestream solution, the trio is taking on a pioneering role for a movement that heralds a turnaround in future customer communication."
